While some countries in Africa are plagued by severe cases of poverty, war, lack of education among other things, these issues are not unique to Africa and are often present in both developed and developing countries around the world.However, it is often more likely to find negative depictions of African countries in the media than any other continent. So, the question remains: how do we balance commercial depictions with changing social development on the African continent especially when sensationalized commercial success is often a medium to impact social engagement in first place?
